Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons instant yeast
- 1 cup water (plus extra if needed)

- 1 cup store-bought pizza sauce
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Make the Dough
In a large bowl, mix the flour, salt, instant yeast, and water. Stir with a wooden spoon until a rough dough forms, adding a bit more water if needed.
Transfer the dough to a clean surface. If it’s sticky, sprinkle a little flour. Knead for 3 to 5 minutes until the dough becomes soft and smooth.
Let the Dough Rise
Place the dough in a clean bowl, drizzle with a bit of olive oil, and cover with a towel. Let it rise for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
Prep the Pan and Second Rise
Preheat the oven to 425°F. Drizzle olive oil into the bottom of a 12-inch cast iron skillet or oven-safe pan.
Punch down the dough and transfer it to the skillet. Press it out to the edges of the pan. Cover with a towel and let it rise again for 30 minutes.
Top and Bake
After the dough has risen, spread the pizza sauce over it and sprinkle with shredded mozzarella cheese. Add any extra toppings if desired.
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling.
Rest and Serve
Let the pizza cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving. This recipe makes one 12-inch pizza, suitable for 3 to 4 people, depending on appetite.
Note on Olive Oil
Since the ingredients are simple, use an olive oil you like the taste of, as its flavor will be prominent. If preferred, avocado oil or another neutral option can be used instead.
