Ingredients
- 2 cups bread flour
- 2 tablespoons bread flour
- 1 teaspoon instant yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3/4 cup warm water (about 110°F)
- 1 tablespoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Preparation Tips
This recipe yields enough dough for one standard-sized pizza. You can use a food processor, a bowl with a spatula, or your hands to mix the ingredients.
Combining Ingredients
In a food processor, pulse the flour, yeast, oregano, garlic powder, and salt together about five times to combine.
With the machine running, gradually add the olive oil, then the warm water. Process until a rough dough ball forms, which should take about 30 to 40 seconds.
Allow the dough to rest for 2 minutes, then process it again for another 30 seconds. If the dough sticks to the blade, add a bit more flour.
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead by hand until it is smooth and forms a round shape. This should take approximately 1 minute.
Transfer the dough to a large, lightly greased bowl. Cover tightly with greased plastic wrap and let it rise until it has doubled in size, about 1 to 1.5 hours. For a slower rise, refrigerate the dough for at least 8 hours or up to 16 hours.
Baking Instructions
Preheat your oven to 450°F. If your oven has a convection bake setting, use it.
Top the dough with pizza sauce, low-moisture cheese, and any other desired toppings.
